Even though I can only spend so much time playng GWX (used to be TGW) I run at 1x a lot of times when I have to lay down because of symptoms. The computer room is right next to my resting room, so I can hear what is going on and can usually reach my computer in time to react to the situation. It's not the quick (well not most of the time) that is against my health, but rather the excitment of the game. My ole heart pumps, and the oxygen doesn't get there fast enough, then I'm into deep trouble. That's why I have to be careful when I watch hockey, especially if it is my favourite team.

I too just sat with the bridge on the screen and enjoy the scenery. So 1x does not bother me 1 bit.
