Was jumped by two Hurricans and shot up real good before I got under. They didn't drop DC's just shot up the boat. This dropped the Hull rating to 86%.This GWX Mod is very realistic. The DD's are really better in GWX they seem to ping you alot more now. If I run at "slow" it seems to help being detected right away. What a great job by the GW Dev Team.

That is awesome! That's the way fighters should behave, and that's about the result they should get.

Did you lose any crew, or have any wounded?

No "men down on the deck" this time. I had that when the Deck Gun was manned. The planes are very deadly now!!!! Also the AA guns are not as good so it's more realestic now. I just crash dive asap now!

Sometimes the new plane behaviour can be stupid too , first patrol I get jumped by what I thought was one Hurricane - I hit "," to look at it while I dived , it starts its attack and dives at me guns blazing - next thing just as its about to pull out of its attack run , another Hurricane suddenly slides into view and crashes into it , seems Binky and Chocko were in such a hurry to bag a U-Boat they came in on converging angles and crashed into each other just overhead

I managed to shootdown 1 hurricane last patrol , but another 4 showed up just afterwards , after that I had to change my course in my patrol grid by 90 degrees and stay under about 2 hours just to stop the progression of planes comeing out looking for me.

I have a Question about the bombs. In my first patrol(12/39) I was attacked by 2 Ansons. I decided to fight back. One of them droped its bombs verry(and I mean almost a direct hit) close. But all that was dove was some major dammage(all repairable). Why? Is GWX trying to modle the inadiacy of the bombs early in the war?

@Wilhelm Schultz... Nope It appears to me... based on my own experience with GWX... that you simply got lucky.

Are you using any other mods?

Wilhelm read this exctract from uboat.net - especially the highlighted bit, looks like your Anson attack is more realistic than you could possible hope for!

"The Anson was sturdy, reliable and pleasant to fly, and it was well-liked by its crews. It was a great success as a trainer. But as maritime reconnaissance aircraft it was a failure: Slow, vulnerable, short-ranged, with pitifully weak armament. The ineffectiveness of the 100lb bomb was illustrated in December 1939, when the British submarine HMS Snapper was attacked in error, hit directly, and suffered four broken lightbulbs. That Ansons were the mainstay of Coastal Command in 1939 illustrates the weakness of this service. Their replacement by Hudsons was a major step forward. "

You got very lucky there sir. As you know there is a difference between shrapnel moving through the air, compared to shrapnel moving through water. As water is alot denser, projectiles move alot slower through water. Also it depends on the angle the bomb/bullet hits the surface of the water. It all adds to the dispersion of said shrapnel. Just be thankful it was not a direct hit
