Crash dive, then get the boat down as far as I can. Change direction by 20 to 30 degrees for up to 4 hours. Then return to course.

If the plane is far, I crash-dive. If the plane is close, I fight it out until he passes overhead, then crash dive before the 2nd pass.

I voted for Crash Dive, I then stay down for a while - usually a couple of hours then resurface and carry on as normal.

Nonononononononono. Your job is to protect your crew, and then sink some tonnage without being too suicidal. Don't fight bloody airplanes. They win. And even if you down them by engaging you attract more fighters and then any nearby escorts. But if they sent T3s instead of Swans I'd stand my ground.

But since GWX is (believe me) insane in the air department... buy a backup keyboard so that your family can still type emails to people with the letter C in their name.

The reason for this poll is the change in GWX. The planes are relentless. I would hang on the surface and just ignore the planes. I can't anymore. So I have it set to automatic periscope depth when the plane is spotted.

:rotfl:

I crash dive always, unless they're too close.

On my first patrol in GWX I decided to shoot it out with 3 swordfish, just to see how they changed. Yeah...that didn't go so well.

Ayuh...the planes in GWX are like flies. I head for P/D and turn the rudder hard over on the way.

Thats why I bought this up because like you said they planes are like flies over a pile of cow crap. Before GWX I just motor on flipping the bird to the pilots. Not anymore, they are darn accurate as early as 1939 I change my whole approach now.
