What a weird article.
Quote:
"The threat in this country is very high indeed. It is at the second highest level and people now know that publicly, because we publish it on the web. And that means that it is highly likely that there'll be a terrorist attempt," Mr Reid told GMTV's Sunday programme.
There's now a high chance of attack because people know about it?

Someone needs to study sentence construction.

As for the threat itself, yawn. Chances are far, far higher of dying in a motor accident, freak storm, homicide, disease, or other non-terrorist cause, yet I don't see anyone posting warning threads about them. The Huge, Evil, Global Terrorist Threat To End Them All™ is slightly overblown when put into perspective with just about, well...

...

...Anything.

I want every English SubSimmer to be extra careful out there, okay?
Indeed. There's a lot of real dangers out there.

Bloody stupid. Threat level is high, because we say it's high. Rubbish.
And why does he call the IRA republicans? That's like referring to the July 7th bombers as martyrs.....eejit

Oh yeah, sorry, now I see it. Didn't read it carefully enough. But can you please explain? I'm young and ignorant and was born during the very end of the Troubles. But isn't that what the IRA are? Republicans vs. Loyalists. That's what the conflict was... right? I'm not taking any sides. Just need an explanation because I like anything to do with Irish history (of course I don't like the troubles... you know what I mean).

No, they are not republicans. They call themselves republicans of course, but can you show me how blowing up a memorial service is in the service of liberty, equality or fraternity?

No. No, I cannot. You got me on that one... Guess I just need to look up "republicanism" next time.
