Default System Specs and SHIV

P4, 3.0 Ghz
ATI Radeon 9600 128 MB TV Capture Card/Video Card Combo
1.5 GB DDR RAM, 400 Mhz

I run SHIII pretty well with this setup, although my graphics are not as good as I would like them to be. Hopefully, this will be sufficient for SHIV.

You will be fine for this game... by a HUGE, GIGANTIC, ENORMOUS margin. SH4 is going to be a a generation behind some currently released games and two behind some that are coming out in 2007(example: SH4, which is not released is using pixel shader 2.0 compared to TES4: Oblivion which has been out for quite a few months uses pixel shader 3.0), and if my rig can smoke anything out now, yours will definitly be overkill for SH4. But hey overkill is never a bad thing in my book

And even if the game isn't the "best possible" looking, that's fine with me, it still looks great The game's developers have done a GREAT job with the limitations of the technology they are using and as they saying goes "don't break what ain't broken".

AJ,
Nice rig, we all hate you with a passion!!!:rotfl:

AMD,DC64, 4600 2.4 stock
2X1024 DDR400
X850XT 256MB; OCed
SA2z 7.1 (I use 5x1)
3 different SATA drives
19inch 1280x1024 Viewsonic

My 3500SC ran SH3 fine with the above set up but the 4600 smokes it.
This is my game rig and I have another PC with all the regular stuff, Music, email, photos etc etc on so lttle is in my gamer.

I am glad to hear SH4 will be behind as I believe my rig should be good for it and since I will likely go out on Yankee patrols every day for a year by then a new system for 2008 games will be half price or less.
Hope being the word!

It will be atleast 12months before I can update my rig:
Asus A8V Deluxe Mobo.
VIA K8T800Pro/VT8237 Chipset
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ CPU
1 gig PC3200 DDR400 ram.
ATI X700 256mb AGP Video Card.
120mb HDD.
So I'm hoping this will run ok, since the Video card is an AGP & not PCIE I doubt a better one would be available in the near future!

My hope is to stick with my GeForce 6800OC until the bitter end, so to say.

By 'bitter end' I mean about another 1.5 years until I get a completely new computer with PCI-E and all that other fancy stuff. I don't see the point in upgrading to another AGP card, and I don't see the sense in upgrading my motherboards/processor/RAM at the moment since they're quite fine otherwise and it would be a huge waste of money for relatively limited gain now.
