NYGM and GW can not be combined, you have to choose one of the two. (Or tweak your choice with other mods)

OK.... I'll give it a whirl. This game is a lot of fun, and interesting, but trying to figure out where to grab it is like herding cats !

NYGM can also be installed/desinstalled via JSGME, no problemo...

I personally prefer GW though , Bernard seems a lot less dumber.

You're on the right path, regardless of which supermod you choose. Before you try either, I highly recommend playing the stock game so you can develop a better appreciation for the work that went into the mods. One word about Grey Wolves - they're coming out with "GWX" within the next month or so. I'm holding off on trying the GW experience until then.
Jones Generic Mod Enabler is a Godsend. I've used to install a variety of mods and it has worked flawlessly. I also highly recommend using Jones SH3 Commander to launch the game, as it will give you access to a number of very useful tweaks. Everyone has their own favorite mods. I'm using the following: NYGM 2.2 6_dials_nygm22 (This gives you slide-out huge dials that are very easy to read) 1500 Meter bearing overlay Enhanced Nav Map Plotting Tools Fubar's crew skins Fubar's IXB Splint camo (a beautiful sub skin - I'm using a screenshot as a desktop now) I also recommend using FRAPS to capture screenshots and movies. It's a great little program. Note that SH3 Commander and FRAPS are stand-alone programs that are not installed with the Generic Mod Enabler. Good luck finding what best suits your tastes. You've also landed in a great community! Congrats!

@Subconscious :
Good to find someone with the same tastes, that's exactly my config as well... I have the lot of Fubar's skins and load/unload according to the sub I am driving at the time ![]() On top I use SH3 Gen for the fun of the missions and SH3 weather to drive me mad trying to fulfill the said missions... ![]()

![]() ![]() Oh - and I fully agree with you on Fubar's skins. To paraphrase an old American Express ad, I don't leave port without one! I downloaded all of the ones I could find for future use. Interesting name - Corsair. It reminds me of a story about the Vought F4U Corsair: The father of a friend of mine was a Corsair pilot in the Pacific theater of WWII. He had no "kills", but he was shot down five times by Japanese fighters. His buddies used to tease him that he was a "Japanese Ace". The really significant aspect of this story is that only 189 Corsairs were lost to enemy gunfire, and this guy was responsible for five of them!
