Default The GWX Campaign... Best Available in SH3

The GWX Campaign

In order to create the most error free and robust campaign files possible, all aspects of the campaign have been digitally checked. Files checked via automation include: the scripted layer, random layer, land layer. Additional files that have been digitally checked include the Defside.cfg, Flotilla.cfg, English/GermanNames.cfg, single contact probabilities, and the Roster folder integrity in relation to all available sea, air, submarine, ordnance, and environmental units by country.

Accordingly, the GWX campaign contains NO:
- duplicate unit entries in any layer;
- scripted units that don't exist;
- missing Roster files for any scripted
unit;

- missing or overlapping dates or times in naval base "changeovers";
- missing English/GermanNames.cfg entries;
- typos and erroneous trailing spaces;

Indeed, HUNDREDS of these little unintentional little errors have accrued over time and were even with stock SH3 when it was released... We have either corrected or removed ALL of these entries.

Plus, to further highlight the attention to detail afforded the campaign files, the following lists just SOME of the historic Operations that are included in GWX:

The Mediterranean War:
Operation Husky (Sicily: July 1943)
Operation Avalanche (Salerno: September 1943)
Operation Slapstick (Taranto: September 1943)
Operation Shingle (Anzio: January 1944)
Operation Excess (January 1941)
Operation Substance (July 1941)
Operation Style (August 1941)
Operation Halberd (September 1941)
Operation Harpoon (June 1942)
Operation Pedestal (August 1942)
Operation Tiger (May 1941)
Operation Vigorous (June 1942)
Operation Stoneage (November 1942)
Operation Portcullis (December 1942)

The Western Front:
Operation Weserübung
Operation Dynamo
Operation Neptune

The North Atlantic Convoy Raids:
Operation Berlin
Operation Rheinübung
Operation Cerberus
Operation Rösselsprung
Operation Sizilien
The campaign to sink the Tirpitz

The Black Sea:
Operation 60,000

Operations in the Far East:
The British Eastern Fleet
Task Force 74 movements
Operation Jaywick
Operation Rimau
Japanese Reconnaissance of Australia
Operation Diplomat
Operation Cockpit
Operation Crimson

Operations Lightning and Matador
Operation Meridian I

Operation Meridian II
The destruction of the Brake and the Charlotte Schliemann
U.S. Task Force Operations around Morotai and The Philippines
Australian minesweeping and ASW operations

Of course, to list here all the Operations plus the historic convoys and other traffic added would take pages, so this list is just a sample of what military action you can expect to find in GWX.

At the time of this posting, the GWX campaign contains more than 950,000 lines of code and is expected to probably break 1,000,000 by release day... Each line checked digitally to ensure its viability and reliability.

Stock SH3 only offers roughly half as much content... and no other campaign package available in SH3 can claim to be as robust.

GWX... expanding your horizons.

What would be really neat is if the grid map could be extended north a bit into the arctic. In Wolves At War we've just opened up the 11th Flotilla out of Bergan, and my first patrols were actually "off map".

Does SH3 support grid refs north of AE/AF? Such as the AA grid? Would it be as easy as simply using a different grid overlay or does it go deeper than that?

You know what they should do? Hire the GWX team to finish the game. Give them a contract, paychecks, an SDK, and a company name. Ubisoft SubSim sounds nice:p.
