Default SHIII 'stealth metre'

Is there anyway to get rid of the silly 'stealth metre'. I forgot to make sure it wasn't included when I installed SHIII with all the GW mods. Is there anyway to get rid of it without having to re-install the whole lot.

The 'noise meter', should have seen it my self. I just haven't used it before in previouse installations. Wasn't my brightest of days.

Don't worry it happens to the best of captains some times

I will deactivate the indicator in my next career.

i think that it takes away realism and is a bit of cheat,

in reality is impossible know when you are detected or not. only at periscope depth when you see a scort change his course an speed towards you.

Or when one of your officers says "we've been detected" like they can read the ASDIC man's mind.

You can deactivate it before your next patrol. When you click on the map in the office to get your next mission, a screen will apear with the location for your next patrol. Down the bottom of the screen is a button which says chage realism.

Go in there and find the noise metre located in the second row of options. Click Apply and away you go!

Replace it with "Escort turning towards us!, Incresing speed!"

The stealth meter is NOT an indication of whether you've been detected or not. It's an indication of how detecable you presently are.

I agree. It is not a cheat, as any U-Boat Commander should know at any point how detectable he was. The way the game uses the stealth indicator is wrong as it 'informs' you of the enemy, but that's the way SH works.
