Sure. Your custom emblem needs to be in TGA file format and the image needs to be a perfect square (128x128, 500x500, and so on). Place the file in your installation folder titled \SilentHunterIII\data\Emblems\Sub Emblems. You should then be able to choose it from the in-game list

I guess mine is a classic but I like it



Apparently the Royal Navy use it as well. Once a RN ship has seen action in the face of the enemy, is allowed to fly the Jolly Roger while entering the harbour at the end of the patrol

Is there an optimal size or will it be resized by the game to fit on the conning tower?

It just gets resized. I guess the larger it is the more memory it will take. I've got some at around 450x450 px and they work the same as the smaller ones that came with the game.
