No, I didn't edit any config file and only the SH3 world is installed by me (to get more merchant ships on map)

I know tht the VII/3 & VII/4 configs ar very late, but if they come, I'm sure I'll purchase either one of them [if I don't get a type IX]

What should I do? I wanta to try type XXI but I'm afraid that I'll be destroyed in 1943

Also, is getting a IX a good idea? It costs a lot of renown but I can get a lot back between 1941 and 1944 with it. Then with 30000 renown, I can get a XXI. However, the investment is huge and I don't have confidence to get through 1943

Please give your ideas

The only way to find out if you like an IX boat better than a VIIC is to try it out. A lot of people around here like the XI more than the VII models (I'm not one of them though..), there is a big chance you wil like it as well. Just give it a try. You can always get the XXI in another campaign. You don't have to try everything out in one campaign you now. There is a lot of fun stuff to explore in the game, one of the nice things is that you have to take you're time to discover them.
