I copped a nasty one off the coast of Norway last night in over 1000m depth. A DD was sitting about 120km off the coast stationary and I snuck up to about 500m fired one into his midships and when it hit, spouts of water everywhere then nothing. I sat off a km or two to watch him slowly sink beneath the waves without a single "Shes going down" or once of renown. Yes it was british, yes it sunk and no I didn;t get a bean.
![]() Considering the Luftwaffe had already robbed me of 2 troop transports I was peeved! |

In casablanca, I sank 4 fish into one and 5 fish...5!!....into the one next to it and they werent even decks awash. Targeted bow to stern and at least another 5-10 feet worth of sinking space and they wouldnt go down. Same thing in a convoy a few days later....1000 meter depths so no "harbor excuse". 2 fish, one slightly ahead of center and one slightly behind, 5 m down, a magnetic under the tail (only blew off one propeller and she kept steaming at 8 knots on a single prop) and one more near the front, 3 m down at perfect 90 degrees. Still floating! They need to soften these troop transports up a bit. These things are over armored! |

I was in Scapa Flow and sank a troopship, fired a three spread salvo at it and it broke in half. The tanker on the hand would not go down.
![]() ![]() On my current mission I sank a small 6K tonner, put two eels into her she did not go down. So I surfaced and sank her w/ my gun. ![]() Last edited by Deep-Six; 10-30-06 at 06:25 PM. |
