I had the habit of saving in-game, until one day I couldn’t load again because of a corrupt save file. I died (damn those B-24s), I couldn’t go back to a previous point in the career, and I couldn’t save any career that I started afterwards. I did a new install (without that Starforce crap –I shelled out 45 Euros for SH3 and I got punished with Starforce, go figure), and was more careful about which mods I installed. I think it was some skins that I installed, and while removing them I may have deleted something else. In any case, a clean install solved everything. Have fun with this great game!

Like Ducimus said do not add the mods unless you are in port.

Actually, don't change anything in SHIII while at sea. Only make changes while "In Base". Not even config files just to be safe. I've lost 4 careers by doing something to the sim that screwed the proverbial pooch. Tempted as I am I leave well enough alone and change or add while in port.

Another idea is to make a backup of your SHIII folder in My Documents, the complete SHIII folder on your C Drive, and SHIII Commander folder. It'll save you headaches if you make the "big" mistake like I have. Best place to save the backups to is an external HDD. Actually backing up the complete C Drive every so often is the best thing to do. Live and learn.

I´m not saying this to be rude or anything like that, just to help you. Next time, if you have problems, try using a more describing topic name. In other game forums, I see alot of topics named "HELP!!!!!!", "HELP!!!!11111", "Something´s wrong! HELP!!!!!" etc. When I browse the forums and see topics like that, I just ignore them.

Of course, that´s not the case in SubSim as there´s isnt 10000 topics named "HELP!!", but if there would be, your question would most propably have been left unanswered.

Nothing more, enjoy your stay and take care!
