Awesome U-snafu. Just reading the history of the North Carr makes the addition worthwhile. Now if only I could find some info on the locations of the British ones. :hmm:

I would love to have more info on how the buoys actually looked during the war
I could easily model it if I had more to go by. My buoy is based lossly on the
9x32 US buoy. Which I used to get this mod going.

Thats is sooo cool! This is one of those little additions that I just love to see. Does it swim on the surface or is it somehow moored to the bottom?

How about doing two unlighted buoys... a bright green and a red one.

They're used to mark the left and right of the path out of the harbour.

Splendid to see more scenery being made.

Just illluminating it the way certain cargo vessels have had lights added to their windows, lanterns, etc.

The red and green lighted buoy is a great idea, as soon as I can
learn how to light them I will have them do just that.

As for the dynamic characteristics of how it looks on the water:

1.) The motion on the water is excellent, all movements look
very good.
2.) The mooring technic is simply checking the Docking box. It
is totally free floating but will move very realistically if
involved in a collision with sound and drift speed from point
of contact that mimics real life.

3.) It can be sunk with the deck gun and used for target practice.
but note: If you shoot it in the harbor the merchant ships will
start shooting at you.

I was hoping the solution for the light would be like the ship lights

Yes the solution could be the same as lit ships
AFAIK the only people who can do it are Anvart and DivingDuck

The red and green ones don't even have to be lit ... they usually aren't in RL (EDIT: or are they?, I've only ever observed them in daylight come to think of it ). So you could make those while your waiting on some help with the lighting.

The red and green buoys could be used to mark the path out of the harbour... to avoid the mines and subnets...

this is the kind of thing I was thinking of:

That's cool man, I like the one with the seals. That give me the idea to make a mooring buoy for ships to use istesd of droping their anchors.

Also, you guys might want to book mark my SH3 web page that I
have started

Yeah, I took a quick look at that. I like the look of that armed trawler. Looks better than the stock one IMO.

What's different about the flower?

I could do that (color code the buoy R & G) by changing the texture map. But
they would have to be a complete clone job. The best thing would be an option
selection in the properties when loading them in the mission kinda like the load
selections for corgo ships.
