Wrong! Not enough work to go around here. It will just mean that a bunch more people will be on welfare and the ones who work will be paying for it all.

Some people in the US seem to think money grows on trees.
I find myself in agreement with you for once.

I think those guys ought to watch the vid from the link Avon Lady posted back on page 1 of this thread.

I can only imagine the indigenous people in North America having the same conversation 4 or 5 centuries ago.

From what i've read they did, except they included in the discussion not only the Europeans and Mexicans and Asians, but the tribe in the next valley as well.

Of course what we call "indigenous peoples" are in reality the latest of several successive waves of imigrants to these shores...

Actually its like this. More people - more crap, More Disease and less food and other resources that are necessary to survive.

And here is a another fact. The population doubles every 22 years but that was 30 years ago. As the world population expands it does so GEOMETRICALLY not ARITHMETHCIALLY.

For those that don't understand that concept don't worry. All it means is that we will double in population faster and faster over time.

True that, August. Still I read in the paper (International Herald Tribune FWIW) that a lot of crops like tomatoes are rotting since tougher immigration measures were implemented. One guy complained he could only find 400 workers rather than the 900 he usual had, illegals of course. Now where are the unemployed Americans to do that work, there are many aren't there?

I know some people who run into a little bad luck, but there are still plenty of good paying jobs. Just go to school, excel, study, graduate, learn a skill which pays well and has plenty of job openings and you're in. Skipping school and not learning a trade will get you nowhere.

From where I sit everyday, there seems to be a shortage of skilled workers.

Their jobs were outsourced to India. One of the fastest growing areas in IT, also the cheapest in labor costs.
