The biggest challenge ever

Well, after the U-9 Sunk I am going for a big daring Career.

But first the last patrol of the U-9,
I was floating around at the coast of America and shot at a fishing boat out of boredom…Crash dived an several times to evade the PT boats , but the weather turned against me…Heavy fog. When I was at PD depth I received a sound contact of a merchant moving right into my route. I intercepted and went on surface and finally I saw a silhouette of the Tanker, and small one but worth shooting at it with my Deck gun. I had a sight of 800 – 1200 meters I was enjoying the shooting but I found it taking too much HE shell to sink so I decided to torpedo it. I fired 1 torpedo 2 m depth and she went with a big bang. Now because I was screwing too much with the Tanker I hear my WO yelling Aircraft spotted….I looked around and already saw them being to close. I quickly ordered to mount the flaks but it was too late, I received 2 direct hits and that killed my 2 petty flak gunners. I had multiple floods in my sub that I had to repair before I was planning to dive…I took to long so the aircrafts dropped bombs again more flooding and my HI down too 70% , the aircrafts where out of ammo so they returned to base…pffff so I stayed on surface for a while to repair and reload the torps…but at the sudden I got shot at by an PT boat…and from an distance I saw silhouette of 2 not friendly looking boats. The first one I could recognize as an Flower Corvette and the other an bigger size DD that started to shoot me…received full blow on my conning tower destroying my flaks and some equipment…I crash dived. I went on 3knt too soon (30 meters) and at the sudden my SO said Depth charges… and again my sub took the full beatings the electric engines where heavily damaged leaving me immobile submerged…first I was repairing the flooding that pulled me down too 120 meters…I managed to get rid of all the flooding and dived to 70 meters depth…going 1 knt , my SO said Depth charges again…and I listened myself through the hydro’s it was the flower for sure…and again I took the full beatings of the depth charges exploding to close by my sub….HI down below the 30…at the sudden I was keep receiving damages and I hear the Hull screaming off pain that I realised that I was too deep for the hull to take ‘’BLOW BALLAST!!’’ that was the last thing I ordered the helms officer to do…before the Hull crushed like an can of coke.

So I lost the U-9

Now my challenging career is going to be like this
I’m going to call myself in the career Bernard DummKöpf
And see if the name Bernard really gives bad luck with the submarine
I’m planning to start way back in 39 in an IIA type. And upgrade it to an IXB as soon as it comes out and when I have enough renown for it.

Wish me luck

Sorry to hear of your loss. I think you'll like the IXB though. I'm having a blast with the 37mm. I actually managed to hit a Hurricane with it and it blew up in a brillant flash. I've since dispensed with most of the AA rounds and stocked up on APs, as they're wonderful for finishing off crippled ships. I'm currently stocking 200 AA and 1000 AP rounds.

The other nice thing about the IXB is that dual 20mm cannon. Aside from being a significantly more effective AA weapon, it's murder on the Elco boats.

Good luck and happy hunting!

did my first patrol today in the new VIIB U-46 2nd flotilla...

thought I would get an IIA in 1939 but the hell with it.

I noticed that Kaleun bernhard had an far-away-lost-brother on board
(this cant get any worse does it....)

The crew is already desperate...

I will see what the 2nd patrol brings me.

First...Yeah I know i,m pretty much ********* with 2 Bernards in the sub :rotfl:
nah he doesnt sing in the morning...he has an weird abillity by taking the radio messages that are Top Secret to the conning tower, he drops his pants and leans over the conning tower and takes an big dump...and after he red the messages he wipes his ass with it so the Message is unreadable so stays secret only for the herrkaleun to know...but knowing bernard he forgets the data in that Message after his breakfast
