Too many units and the FPS takes a massive hit and becomes unplayable\watchable IIRC there were over a 1000 ships used at Dunkirk plus aircraft Given the narrow area of channel involved even ships scripted in port either side would be rendered so the lag would tremendous if not impossible Smaller actions are possible but even then at the limitations of the game engine For example The Bismark timeline - the actual route of the Bismark to Gotenhafen was thru the Kiel canal but if you run the route that way the ships go aground when close to the player uboat as the AI collision routines arent that clever So as much as I would love to encounter the Bismark and tugs steaming down the canal towards me it wouldnt look good if they ground themselves out and start taking damage |
