Maybe it was a refurbished or OEM card and if it was they most likely mentioned that in the product description.

From what I recall, the ad didn't say it was refurbished. Plus, I was doing a major puter upgrade (MB/CPU/another HD), was having some problems and was just happy the card worked after I plugged it in.
