Blue screen of death

Now it was my turn to get this famous Blue screen of death. I was away from the computer only web page open was subsim and FB

When I returned I saw a blue screen on my monitor-With a stopcode saying
0xc000021a I Rebooted three times before the computer started to collect info and restarted the computer.

Black screen then Running diagnostic-then a new message about repairing the disc which could take more than an hour

This toke around 20 minutes, then black screen again thereafter a new message-Reboot device or........(can't remember the rest of the message) I tried to restart the computer a few times, but the same messages popped up.

I'd never heard of this BSOD before so I looked it up, there are a multitude of possible causes so you'll have to go through them one at a time, my guess is that you won't do that so expect some more of this BSOD in the future.

Thank you. Maybe it is the hdd who iis damaged-'cause that's what it says 'repairing hdd(disc)'

Under all circumstances I'm taking it to a computer service company to see if it can be repaired or not.

I hope it can be repaired, since I have three pdf-files on my desktop which are important. Yes I should have copied them and saved them on a USB. But who would have thought I would run into such a computer breakdown.

I haven't installed any hardware since I bought the computer and I haven't installed any software the last couple of years. Only upgraded them when needed.

If everything else fails and you end up with a new system or a newly installed fresh HD in the old one, you can keep the old HD externally and later attach it to the freshly installed system, trying to extract those PDFs. I would do so only if it is verfified fact that the HD had a technical problem and no software-induced one: malware in other words, else you would just infest your new system with the old problem. If software or "unknown cause" is the problem, never attach the old HD to a new system again.

Thank you Skybird - I'll ask the service person if this can be done or not and what they else can do to save these pdf-files.

I'm fully prepared on the fact they will say it can't be repaired-Remember it is their main task to sell me a new computer-They will therefore say: Sorry it can't be repaired

I have to sooner or later make a change of operations system-from WIN10 to WIN11. Before that I have to save some important files on my computer mostly these pdf-files.

I deliver my computer yesterday and the repair man said, it's mostly a hardware failure when you get this kind of stopcode.

Today I got a call-The HDD is kaput-He will try to save as much he can, especially these pdf-files.

Ach so ein......

Now it gonna going to be interesting to see how much a new ssd harddisk cost and if I can get win11.

My elder sister and my little sister have Win 11 and it works fine. They aren't exactly some computer gurus far from it. Right now I'm sitting in my elder sisters home and writting on a Win 11, using google chrome

I can first get my computer back around May 13th.

I am not saying Win11 does not work, unfortunately it does, more or less.
I am saying that it is a tool of total surveillance and total dependency. If you do banking and shopping and logins for this and that and PIN codes and personal opptions on your PC and have personally sensitive stuff being done on your PC and the system makes a screenshot every five second and the AI chip in your rig understands that screenshot's content - thats what these new AI chips on new PCs are for: to interpret and understand the content of the screenshot - and creates a text file with a description of it and sends it to Microsoft; and all your essential stuff is enforced to be duplicated or even exclusively stored on a Microsoft server ("Cloud") and you cannot use your machine without connection to Microsoft's Sauronic eye, then I would say that is a privacy and security nightmare of the maximum worst kind possible. You cannot deinstall these things, Microsoft made sure you can't.

I hope your sisters have the transcription code for their system when Win11 has bitlocked their HD and memory, because Microsoft enforces this being done automatically. Without it all your data is unaccesible in case you need to replace part of your hardware. You cannot even launch your rib anymore once you replkaced than drive or RAM bar. MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT EVEN AWARE OF THIS.
