I doubt there are many sims/games that have endured as long (without major version updates). The mod community has been fantastic!

yeah, modding community helps a lot + game replayability.
Also SH3 is interesting for people interested in military, WW2 and submarines.

First it would be nice if Ubisoft would stop pushing woke agenda into their games and start to focus on improving of their quality.

Ubisoft are too far gone now, not just ideolgocally as you point out, but financially I wouldnt hold much hope for their recovery.
