There's no substitute for Commander. But the KC Team is working on a fix.

With the info of this post I could make me a mod to change the starting date to September in 1939 (instead of August). I like to start in 1939 but straight to the action.

Yeah, just change the "Month0_0_0=8" to "Month0_0_0=9" for the Flotilla0=902 section. Just one number change to do.

I modified the first DateXX, MonthXX (XX a number that increments in each register) for each flotilla that are selectable in 1939.

For example in the case of the first flotilla:

Date00=1939
Month00=9
Starting00=Yes

For the second flotilla is:

Date10=1939
Month10=9
Starting10=Yes

(... Same on the 7th)

I am playing a campaign having started in Sept of 39 with no crashes so far.

If you only change 1939 start dates, I guarantee there will be no crashes. I have done a lot of modding on the Flotilla file, very radical and extensive, changed a lot of things for special purposes. So, changing 1939 start dates is simple and safe. I even got rid of the Koenigsberg start a long time ago, which was probably one of my first projects.
