I think with a magnetic torpedo, its possible. Don't forgot that the water is very shallow. When the ships keel is deep, and you want to go under it. You can hit the bottom of the sea.

With impact pistol, it won't work i think. The AOB is too bad.
But with magnetic, it will explode if its near the ship. The damage would not be perfect. But i think it will explode.
Well, if it’s possible I can try and see then? I can just save, try and if it doesn’t work as planned load for this time I think… I’m still learning and if there is some chance, it will be interesting to see if it actually works in reality and more importantly, sink the ship or do only very little damage… But good point about the bottom, hope it’s deep enough there. And thank you very much for the answer!

well, iirc until last time it was possible to sink the Hood with torpedo with impact pistol aiming at forward ammo bunkers.
But it seems that there was some change and during the last visit the subnet worked very well and blocked all attacks from forward and from side, so only attack from behind (with very limited angle) with magnetic pistol was possible...

Convoy attacks every time for me your Uboat has more tactical freedom 1000mtrs of water plus under uboat keel on port raiding one would be like a fox in a hen coup but cant get out and mr farmers comming up the path with axe in hand Yikes!

Nah, it was not so bad so far. I was just surprised when RAF sent bomber to bomb their harbor because I was shelling ships there.
But I was on my move already so they bombed my old position and fortunately no one was hurt.

When attacking a convoy in formation, you can simultaneously fire 2, 3 or even 4 torpedoes, taking into account the intervals between the rows, and the torpedoes hit targets simultaneously. If you know the vulnerable spots, then one torpedo is enough. And then three torpedoes are three hit targets. When attacking a port, it is interesting, then somewhere in late 1940 or early 1941, I decided to attack the port of DOVER in the narrowest part of the English Channel. Of the larger targets there were a passenger steamer, a light cruiser and a large transport, the rest were smaller. So, simultaneously with the attack, Henkel 111s flew in and bombed the port. Using an external camera, I saw how it looks from the angle of an attacking aircraft under anti-aircraft fire. Several more times I entered the area of this port and sometimes also observed attacks by aircraft, Henkels, Stukas 87 and U 88.

Thats interesting. I actually never experienced German planes bombing British ports in my games. Only late war i experienced Allied planes bombing German ports.
