Here is my GWX3.0 Mod stack that has worked very well for me except for 1 minor glitch on one of my GWX3 installs, one career in 1942, the other 1943. The second install all is 100%. When I send a patrol report, my answer is blank. I've never been able to figure that out. but other then that GWX3 runs great and I still enjoy it and have 2 active careers in progress. In the past few years I mainly play NYGM v5.9 soon to be v6.0, OneAlex v1.53, Toyotagt86 v2.2, WAC v5.2 and CCoM v12, but I like to get my GWX3 + Mods out for a "drive" every now and then.

No, With the newer versions of GWX3 based Super mods, like OneAlex and Toyotagt86, I migrated to them and left the origonal GWX3that I set up, as is. I seldom play GWX3 now but I keep it around now for nostalgic reasons. Kinda like like that 69 Chevelle SS, in my garage, that I drive only on Sundays.I think the only additions I've made since Stiebler's were posibilly DGUI for GWX3 and stuff like the movible stopwatch and such. But I mostly left GWX3 as is.

Gentlemen,
I have recently installed GWX 3.0 successfully. I have installed SH3 Commander 3.2. I downloaded the SH3 Commander Cfg files installer and have run it but SH3 Commander does not work properly. It does not allow me to select U-boat type, U-boat number, start date of career and does not install realistic crew with any member having previous patrols. Can you help. Thanks |

Did you install SH3 Commander inside your actual SH3 game folder. This is what I have done.
Is the SH3.exe, Cmdr.exe and your JSGME.exe all set to run in the compatabilly mode of WIN7 and set to run as ADMINISTRATOR And finally, none of this stuff should be installed in "Program Files" You can install it on your C drive but NOT in "Program Files"

Hi, It has been a long, long time since I have been here. So after years of not playing this game I thought it was about time to return to sea. I have the game on Steam and of course this mod I can't play the game without it, it's just not the same. So the game loaded okay and I started a new career but a big disappointment happened. I have a black screen and the sign game paused. I have the display at the bottom of the screen but nothing I do will make the game start. I have no idea what has happened I hope that more intelligent people on here can help me. I hope that I have not ruined the game somehow.

Hi all. Not played SH3 for many years. I just got a new laptop running Windows 11. My previous laptop was running Windows 10 and I had GWX 3.0 working on that .... but sometime ago... not checked it recently. Either way, updates to Windows 10 and my Windows 11 won't run GWX gold.
Here is what I've done on new laptop; 1) Installed SH3 from my old original installation CD to C:\UBISOFT 2) Didn't run game to avoid starforce firing up. 3) Installed the 1.4 patch 3) Installed the 1.4 NO CD patch 4) Fired up SH3, started single mission ... works fine. 5) Took copy of the new installation as is as backup.# 6) Downloaded GWX 3.0 gold 7) Ran the GWX installation and directed it to the C:\UBISOFT\SilentHunterIII folder 8) Fired up SH3, tried single mission but the game crashes when loading bar is about 90% complete. I have not loaded any of the GWX optional stuff from JSGME. Any suggestions ? I'm not going to play SH3 in stock form... so I really want to get GWX working again. |

Ignore the above. As I age I am finding that far too many of my brain cells have left the building. I got GWX working by performing one final step I should have remembered - I ran the 4GB memory patch. Fired up a mission.
Now I need to remember how I previously got widescreen working. |

Basically polyfiller, although the details remain necessary for reading or listening closely for in the video.... you can remember the installation process this way: 1) Install SH3 patched to 1.4b to a folder other than your "Program Files" 2) Install GWX - Knight's Cross edition to any other folder of your choice (again not program files) Run the game from the .exe file found in the GWX-KC files that you just planted. Ignore the .exe file found with the original game files that you installed in step #1 above. Also GWX-KC fixes the widescreen issue for you... unless you have an odd monitor that will not easily manage 1920 x 1080 Then you will need other help and to create a new thread. Sink'em ALL!!! ![]() Unless you are speaking of GWX 3.0 which has different installation instructions and requires something like Ahnenerbe's Widescreen mod applied. Last edited by Kpt.
