If you cannot see anything at night (even with minimal / light cloud?) with the night periscope, then Kirienko's mod for the attack scope is not going to make any useful difference for you. Even with that mod enabled, the attack scope will still have lower light emission than the night scope. The night scope in GWX KC is set up to allow 85% light emission into the scope viewport, not much less than the UZO and binoculars (99%). So, if you can't even see the bow of your boat with the night scope, I'd strongly suggest that your screen's brightness and contrast settings need to be adjusted.

Well, he said he could not see the bow of the Uboat from the bridge at night so I don't really think he was implying this mod helped with that, I understood all that just like a general comment about his issues with visibility.

Ah yes, fair point! I mis-read what Keesh said.
Well, just to clarify, nights with heavy cloud should be very dark - as there's no source of light. Nights with lighter cloud will be less dark and should give decent visibility - unless a player's screen brightness control is set very dark.
