Happy belated birthday to our musical guru. My apologies for missing the party, Vienna. I hope you had a good day there with friends and enjoyed your day.

~ All the very best on your birthday ~

First of all, I want to thank all for the good wishes; one more loop around the sun gone and the next will be my three-quarter century mark...

I spent the day mostly busy with a bit of prepping for some of the medical appointments I have this week; I am the only person left in my family, so when I'm gone, this branch of the family tree is gone, too; kind of a weird feeling that I'm the last one standing; thought I'd have been gone long before this; I guess its true: only the good die young... ...

Since my health took a turn towards not so good, I haven't been out and about as I used to be, so I lost touch with any acquaintances I may have had and, sadly, some have gone before me; my birthdays in the past several years have been rather solitary; the last close friend I had died in 2016 and he really was a good person who died young (64 years old)...

In the past year, the various doctors I've been sent to see have been pretty much able to keep a lid on anything progressing too badly, but I was diagnosed as an official diabetic a few months back and, just this month, my cardiologist, who had me wear a 24/7 heart monitor for two weeks, informed me the results showed I had an odd random 'pulse' preceding some of my heartbeats, with some pulses coming in rapid staccato bursts, so he prescribed a new medication for me to join the growing collection I am amassing; however, I'm still able to get around and my mind isn't too badly off that I can't handle everyday life, so I am reasonably happy...

The Dread Zeppelin clip brought back memories for me; I saw them at a couple of venues here in Hollywood way back when; they were a big item in the local music scene and are still fondly remembered in LA...

Again, thanks for the kind wishes and the best of wishes for all of you and yours...

Vienna, here: 74 years, same location, a long and well established enterprise...

I figured that you had.

I had high hopes for those guys but, true to Hollywood tradition, they burned out like a handful of asteroids in the night sky.
I guess the band tried to keep it going after TortElvis left the stage (he literally went back to his day job at the dairy) but that was about it.

The band played on, in various incarnations; the original band was an amalgam of members of other local bands, random local musicians, and, occasionally, some studio cats; TortElvis did eventually return to the group and was in and out for an extended period...

The idea came from a trend at the time to lampoon genres, a sort of low-tech mashup; one other local act was El Vez, the "Mexican Elvis", who was the alter ego of one of the band members of The Zeros, Robert Lopez...
