I just installed GWX via your instructions and strangely, only one campaign will start. If I try to start a career from Wilhelmshaven or Kiel, it will CTD in the last stages of loading. But for some reason I can start a career from Stralsund it will launch. Any ideas? |

CTD only when loading a lot of data, or part way through a career usually means the 4GB patch (or HSie hard coded fixes, which contains it) is not loaded correctly. It is a very tricky thing to get right.
The other alternative is that one of the locations in the campaign is calling up something (a ship for example) that your mod collection cannot cope with. |

What’s the HSie hard code fix? The only things I’ve attempted so far (on this installation) is the steam fix, 4GB patch and GWX3 Gold. |

The HSie hard coded fixes add a whole bunch of gameplay goodness, including some of the following (which are all selectable):
4GB patch more torpedo failures less bad weather weapons officer moves to the bridge when surfacing homoerotic interactions in the aft torpedo compartment weather restrictions on reloads blurry periscope views restrictions on snorkelling reduced visibility warnings when running at high time compression u-tankers pack attacks (which are only really good for comedy value as the AI is sooo bad!) It's a must have to be honest but also a real pain to install, which is why most GWX folks run OneAlex as he's done it all for you. https://www.subsim.com/radioroom/dow...o=file&id=4717 (I think!) Read the instructions very carefully, they are a bit confusing because Stiebler worked with H.Sie and added a whole bunch of extra stuff. Last edited by Hooston; 11-13-24 at 02:05 AM. |
