I draw a 250 km circle ( or 125 km for tighter spaces such as North Sea) centered on my patrol grid, and after completing the 24 hrs in that grid I start patrolling within that circle. If that doesn't do it after a couple or three game weeks I may resort to consulting the flotilla.cfg file for the official list of grids for the month, year, and type of boat for my flotilla. Ther are three sets of five grids for that month. They seem to be arranged so that the first set is for the north part of the map, the next set for the middle, and the third set for the south. So I just choose the closest set and roll up a random 1-5 grid or just look at them and choose one that is close or better for other reasons. Sometimes I even roll up a 50% chance of even being approved to do it.
The best thing about this is getting an appropriate grid when the month changes. |
