Default security check takes 10 minutes!

I paid for this great game and installed it legally but my 'security check' of the DVD takes at least 10 minutes every time I go to start the game! Does this happen to everybody?

the check is fine for me....but the load up is very long...usually about ten minutes from clicking the Icon to playing the game....

if its just the security check...then I would say that is strange.

No. It takes 5-6 seconds. Try cleaning your drive and disk. Also check out for any scratches.

I don't see 5-6 seconds being realistic for most. My guess is from click to loaded save is about a minute or so.

The security check should take around 5-10 secs max.
Close down any un-needed progs if your unsure you can get a free prog like windows inspector which will analise what progs you got running and tell you if if you need them or not and the best thing it's free.

Quick workaround:

Just put the dvd in, then reopen/close the tray. select "play" when the menu pops up.

Assuming you have "autoplay" enabled on your system.

10 minutes usually means - dirty disk

1 minute means - clean disk.

He meant the starforce disk check. It's that little window that opens and scans to see if your SH3 disk is valid. It shouldnt take longer than... well 5 or 6 seconds.:hmm:

I found that when I uninstalled my CD/DVD writer software, the game launches much quicker.
