Woodsman's Tea (New England style):

Add loose tea leaves (no tea bags here) to the basket of an old school percolator style coffee pot. The tea is your call, I prefer black tea but any type is fine as long as it isn't "flavored".

Fill the pot with cold water then heat to boiling. The tea in the basket should hold up for at least one month as long as you brew one pot or more per day.

Here's where it turns into New England style-

Do NOT empty the basket. Instead, add a fresh layer of tea leaves to the basket every 4-7 days (or when the tea starts to taste weak). The tea takes on an almost-smoky or woody flavor after one or two weeks.

I have lived in New England all my life and this is the first that I have heard of this. Sounds like it would work though.

What is needed is the opinion of a good, old curmudgeon (no, not one of those on these forums) with a firm idea of a cuppa...

I'd throw almost anything and anyone in Boston Harbor before I'd toss in my PG Tips.

My Winn Dixie actually has a little "UK" subsection in the international foods section now just beneath the new "India Indians" subsection. Asians & Latins welcome new members to the club.

Hey if you like PG Tips you will probably like Builders. After all "Britain was not built on Camomile".
