I had that problem when I tried to run SH3 Commander on an unpatched game.

Might be a corrupted install too. What mods do you use?

I had that same thing when I first got SH3. Installing the patch cures it, and SH Commander and GW makes it an almost perfect game!

Ok the last bit was shameless plug!

Oh baby, yep, I know the problem. My WO was also acting wierdly, I uninstalled SHIII completely and al mods, uninstalled all folders etc. A clean reinstall, patch to 1.4b, install commander, run game, no worries anymore.
Good luck, post again if this does not help

In what universe does everyone know that the Enterprise uses PROTON torpedoes?

As all well informed people know. The Enterprise uses PHOTON torpedoes.

Oh man, my wife is right. I am a Trek geek

Don't be ashamed. Trek is fantastic. a Modern sci-fi Shakespearean inspired series. If you wanna make fun of sci-fi geek to talk to the Star Wars kids. Trek has real human value. It's like Hamlet, Othello, and King Lear in 2459.
