Default 4GB blues

Crashing part way through a career is a common symptom of problems around memory addressing. Usually it's lack of a 4GB patch or the equivalent HSie hard coded fixes - or they are not properly installed as it is a real pain to patch sh3.exe and set it up in JSGME.
i thought OneAlex had set up everything, but looks like you found a way to break it.

For some reason the save game files grow considerably throughout a career. This smells to me like a memory leak coding error as the game does not seem to need to save so much data. Anybody know what is in the big files? Anyone ever tried to fix it, for example via SH3 Commander?

Like I said when I edited the earlier post, it turned out I had not run the LargeAddressAware patch to that copy of SH3. It looks like I am on my way again now. I had recently added an SSD drive (faster!!) and put new installs on the new volume. But missed a step.

The Onealex mod is one of the easiest to operate.
I wonder who has memory leaks ...come on...let's be serious...gentleman...
here an example of an install path D:\Sh3\SilentHunterIIIOneAlex
Now the mod is already patched 4go
go here to change the parameters Stiebler is another...
D:\Sh3\SilentHunterIIIOneAlex\Support\Stiebler4C_V 16B1
in this folder bring back your sh3 exe activate HsieOptionsSelector_V16B
choose your options then say ok.. it's patching...lol
Read the recommendations provided with the mods to cover memory leaks.
I hope I have been clear and wish you good fun..
I would like to point out that the original Stiebler parameters of the sh3 exe have already been patched... its recommended by Alex himself..
