That is indeed strange, Paul... What is your computer model number, and the OS you are using? Is it a stock install, or did a shop or friend set it up for you? I would recommend to not install the game directly in the root folder of C:, but rather make yourself a new folder, such as "C:\Games" or whatever you want to use, and install the game to that. Being directly off the root of the hard drive has the potential to cause issues, though I doubt that is what the case is here.

Also, are you using a disk version of the game, or a download from Ubisoft or Amazon, or similar?

Hi propbeanie,

Well, thanks for reply, apologies for my late reply.

Unfortunately your Games folder Installation Idea didn't work.

As said previously, I have never had a Problem with Silent Hunter 4 Installed as C:\Silent Hunter 4 on this Windows 10 Operating System.

Thinking of knocking Silent Hunter 4 GOLD on the Head have wasted To many Hours over this.

Many thanks

Paul.

It is a shame you cannot get the game to run on your computer. If you have anyone in your area familiar with computers, they might be able to come give you a hand at wrestling the beast to the ground, and forcing compliance upon it... - wishing you well with which ever way you go!

I'd pay $20 on Steam and give that a try. Just don't save the game to the default location. I know it sucks to pay again for a game you already have.

What 1Patriotofmany mentions reminds me pcohen, that if you do not have the Steam version of the game, and that with the disk version, you do have to allow the SH4 installation to "install" the DirectX v9.0c library files, along with the codec stuff. It does not over-write any current versions of DirectX, but instead "supplements" it with the older library file needed by SH4. The Steam and Ubi download versions should do that DirectX stuff for you while installing the game.

Default Still having SH4 Admin Issues

Hi Everybody.

This Is the latest situation with my Desktop Computer with my Windows 10 OS.

Hope it makes some sort of sense.

For some weeks now with a New Windows 10 setup I have been trying to run My Three Favourite Games/Simulations.

Which are Monopoloy NEW EDITION, Microsoft Train Simulator (Run as 1MSTS) and Silent Hunter 4 Wolves of The Pacific.

These 3 Programmes couldn't be any different but I can only Run any combination of Two of them succesfully.

When all 3 Programmes are on this Computer Silent hunter will not start from IT's Desktop Shortcut. getting Message:-
"An Administrator has blocked you from runnung this add"

I don't understand why this Is because the Windows 10 Installation I am using currently Is the same Windows 10 that was on my Computer

previously. I only Re-Installed Windows to have a clearout. I just don't understand why these three Programmes don't work seperately.

Anymore help or suggestions Please?

Thanks

Paul.

... I know this answer, but don't remember it... I do remember though that MSTS does cause issues on Win10 on my machine downstairs, which is an old Core2 quad. Do you have all of the updates available for MSTS, including the after-market ones? I'll see if I can look on the computer downstairs and get you some links. Seems to me this has to do with the DirectX files, but I am not certain. You could try to re-install the DirectX v9.0c run time, which if you have an SH4 install disk, it is on it, else you would have to use the MS online version. As for Monopoly, I am not familiar with it, but it might also be an older game and has some system requirements like MSTS and/or SH4. Unfortunately, there are a LOT of DirectX and Visual C++ library files, each with slightly different files inside, and it might be that one of the games you have overwrites the files of the previous. My computer downstairs has a dual-boot Win7/Win10 set-up, and I have it currently set to only be able to run MSTS in Win7, due to issues with it in Win10. I have a separate SH4 install copy for each of Win7 and Win10. All of those have folder names designating where I can run them, such as SH4Win7 and SH4Win10. I look and see what I have for MSTS downstairs, and see if I can find you some links...
