It is.

Brussel does not want to realise it and blows a lot of air into non-existing ballons. But the EU does not sit at the table of the big powers, and that are the US and China. The do things. The EU laments and dreams.

The decline is demographically, culturally, business-related, and increasingly intellectually. And as a result Europoe looses relevance on every level and in every branch. Its green deal dogma makes things even worse, the others reject it and will no compromise so far, and they refuse the EU's claim for moral leadership alltogether, and this shows increasingly growing irritation in Brussel: they thought they were loved and admired by everybody, and the idea that this is not so they had turned into something unimaginable. The world does not listen to Europe anymore. Its values cannot be dictated to others anymore. Getting lectured by Europeans is not wanted anymore. The others kn ow that they have what we need, and that the dependencies havew reversed.

The continent has had its time, and it lasted long. But its over. The agony will last for decades to come, and if we are unlucky and careless, on the way down we will turn into really ugly tyrannic regimes abusing people and supressing them to keep the show of illusions running a bit longer.

Germany has turned out to be a catalyst accelerating this general trend. Others like France and Britain simply stick their heads into he sand and dream of better times long passed by.

The intellectual productivity of Europe also declines. Slowly, its not a sudden death ending. But these are longterm trends that have momentum and last long, are hard to influence. The trend is clear. The global distribution of key industries has been won by the others, namely the US and China.

Germany is out, and currently competes to become the running joke of global politics.

All this together, the decline of Europe, is the real "Zeitenwende" of the present. The fall began with WW2.
