Just last night I was near Iceland, so I snuck into the harbor there. I managed to get in pretty close when a Flower Corvette detected me. I was 5 KM away, behind a peninsula, silent running at 1 knot. Anyway, he charged right in and nearly grounded himself.

It sort of evens out the fact that you can't fool thier ASDIC by being near the shore. But I was clearly playing the AI and not a simulation at that point.

I managed to carefully reverse out of the cove I was in and get a tube on him. When his buddy showed up, I was close to the sea-wall and he got hung up on that.

Later I had my periscope up. There was a C Class destroyer and a nuetral American Clemson in the harbor. The C class opened fire on my periscope. Hit the Yanks and "awoke the sleeping giant." The C class was sunk pretty fast.

I also found it odd that none of the fully maned warships in the harbor could fire up the engines and come after me. The Dido was pinging me even as I crossed in front of it.

It was sort of a disapointing raid. The tankers were all American in July 1941, so I eneded up with 2 destroyers, 3 medium merchants and 3 fishing boats. I didn't get credit for the corvettes that sunk themselves.
