How soon do you think I should switch to manual targeting? I'm not sure if I'm ready for it.

Do the switch when you think yourself you are ready. I started with original SH few yars ago and I have never used auto targeting. I think with manual targeting you get soooo much more out from the game. BTW, why don't you give a try for the manual targeting with a single mission for example? It's not that hard. Estimating the Ab needs to be practiced but you'll learn how to do it. And if you use to shoot usually in 90 deg. angle, then the estimation is not a problem at all.
