It appears that collision damage is much less compared to SH3. Yesterday I rammed three times in frustration a half-sunken steamer that just wouldn't go down for good after I had run out of both torpedoes and deck gun ammunition, in SH3 I would have 100% sunk, instead I remained afloat. The merchant didn't appear to suffer any additional damage, either.

I remember at one point in SH3 the uboat conning tower was essentially indestructible. If you did it right you could rip the belly out of destroyers using your conning tower and get away with it.

Interesting. My experience with ramming in TWoS was different: unless it was a glancing blow at low speeds I was more or less guaranteed to be crippled or sunk. In SH3 (unmodded) I tended to survive destroyers running info my conning tower at full speed.

I let myself get square-on t-boned by a freighter a day or so ago. It took some seconds before any damage was recorded. It pushed my sub along for a while. Not much damage. It should have cut the boat in half.
