RA 1.51 Patched....so tired of crashes

Its almost unplayable now. CONTSTANT crashes. I'm so tired of chasing down these bugs. Ive reinstalled a thousand time, installed on different machines...each time I think i've solved on issue I find another one.

Current crashes:

1. Trying to use under-ice TV. Any platform that uses icetv.dll instant crash.

2. Trying to wire guidance in any Sierra class. instant crash

I really need Modern Naval Warfare to come out soon....

So I just finally decided to do the latest 1.51 RA.

Did everything *EXACTLY AS SPECIFIED*, Step-By-Step.

Will not load. At all.

Depending - it seems? - on which Windows Compatibility version I set it to, sometimes I see the DGVoodoo icon load up and then immediately crash, sometimes if I change it trying to get it to work, it just goes to a black screen for 5 or so seconds, then dies out.

Woo to the Hoo.

FML.

Look for a Windows 10 folder in your DW dir....there's a d3d8.dll or something like that. That goes in main dir....it will help. Still at a ton of other minor bugs though.....

I'm still running 1.50.3 - I got a few CTDs at the start - but it seems more stable now.

It doesn't seem to like 'alt-tabbing' in and out - so I try not to do that now.

Hope it works out, man. There's probably only a couple of years left of DW, and it's been a heck of a run!

Thanks Ghost Dog that worked.

I actually downloaded the "Wrapper" file from the RA website and followed the unpacking instructions. After replacing the .dll from the "Wrapper" with the one from the Windows 10 folder, and deleting the other 2-3 files it came with, it loads up now.

One thing that I have a problem with that is still ongoing - this is not new , been years now - is that I can't load up the added-on Surface platforms and some of the Air platforms. I'd love to play in the Italian Bergamini / FREMM FFG, never loads. Russian Grisha and Udaloy and LSD, nope. It has something to do with the "Seed" whatever that is - a few years back, if I randomly imputed a "Seed" # sequence it decided it liked, it would let me do a Quick Mission with one of them, and then an actual mission. But it just stopped one day and decided, Nope. If I try one of them, the Loading bar goes about 2/3 or 3/4 of the way and stops and then stalls, and I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL and end the program. Sucks.

But at least I can get the game to load now, thanks.
