Thanks to my dad I have XP, Kubuntu, Fedora, SuSe 10, and Arch Linux.
I will say that of them all SuSe is my favourite. It is very useful having everything that Win XP has except its all better and it is incredibly fast for having such a pretty GUI. If I only had the time to get Cedega working I'd be able to game it upon Linux and that would pretty much eliminate my need for Windows. But windows has me conditioned to its interface so its still hard to change over to something unfamiliar. That said Ive heard that Vista is a hog and so I mgiht finally have the impetus to change over permanently. |

I don't think Linux for the desktop ever will quite catch up with it's commercial competitors Windows and Mac OS X, but it may have reached the point where you could use it without feeling the need for more bells and whistles. Servers are different beast than desktops, and Linux is big on them. Some people, for example Oracle's flamboyant head honcho Larry Ellison, think that Linux will completely dominate the server market in the future. |
