Most people's greatest fear is loss, the biggest loss being that of their own lives. We, as people, will always seek any explanation that steers towards existence being eternal.
The real problem comes for me that if the universe is this large, life must exist elsewhere. If *any* of this life evolved even only 1 million years before us (very little time on universal scale) and these beings, if they did not self-destruct before reaching technological maturity, were able to develop computer like technology. They would now easily be able to simulate the entire universe, including ourselves. It is estimated that even with our current computing power, it would merely require a computing system the size of our moon, to simulate everything in the known universe. The probability that you and I are in base reality, is almost zero. |

I think anyone who claims they don't fear death is either lying or deeply depressed. But what also appears to be the case is that almost all people going through the dying process, do not seem afraid during this transitional period. There are many end-of-life videos about this subject, and most are extremely peaceful. The brain has a tremendous capacity to adjust. I once had the privilege to be part of a small group of people at a lady's last meal. She would be euthanized later that day to avoid the horrors of end stage pancreatic cancer. She always demanded not to be given pain killers or medications that changed her perception or clarity. I think she feared that more than death. During the entire dinner I never saw fear. Not once. It was the strangest thing to me. It was almost as though she was going on a cruise or a vacation of some kind (I do not mean to sound crude, merely what i observed) there was a lot of wonder, but no fear in her, that I could tell. And dying people have no reason to lie. It was strangely reassuring. Last edited by Shady Bill; 10-10-22 at 03:50 PM. |

"The Global Consciousness Project"
Meaningful Correlations in Random Data Want to make people aware of the study below. I find it fascinating. This Princeton led group placed random number generators around the globe, and just monitor their output. Interestingly enough, when certain global events take place. The RNGs start to show synchronization and patterns become less random for a time. https://noosphere.princeton.edu/ the good part: (data) https://noosphere.princeton.edu/results.html#alldata |
