Default Antartica

After I did my 24hrs at GR91 I decided to go to Antatica last time I been there was when I was playing sh3 out of the box with no mods but didn't remember what it looked like.
Anyway now am playing with GW installed I went to have a look,I was expecting Icebergs and a lot of white masses of land, what I saw was totally different something resmbleing Norway on a summer day and loads of trees, now correct me if am wrong but since when do trees grow in Antartica?

That depends on whether Hollywood is involved or not!

the Land That Time Forgot... i always liked that dumb movie... for some reason... i always try to catch it on the tube...

..but that movie poster on the right... the sub was a uboat i thought, that one looks like a US fleet sub... and i don't rememebr the sub having a Seaview type glass nose at all :rotfl: :rotfl:

is there a version out that i missed...

as far as SH3 is concerned... icebergs... ha... i wish

i've been to the Arctic, and i've been to the Antarctic... and not once during any of those voyages, did i see even so much as a snowflake in the air... much less an iceberg floating by...

the journey north, did though, seem to take on a more forboding feeling though... the days got shorter, and the weather got worse... it really gave you a feeling of leaving the civilized world and the war behind, and journeying to where no man has gone before...

soon i wound up choosing not to go out onto the bridge or on deck at all, but to remain in the warm confines of the hull... it got so dark and bleak out there... almost scary...

it really felt good as i returned to the warmer southern lats, where the days started to be longer... and the sun came out again...

that part was cool... they did a good job of immersion there... i really wish they had taken the time to model some ice that you could sail under up there... and few icebergs heading down the Greenland/ Canada slot, into the North Atlantic...

Really Red Oktober? I seem to remember encountering some icebergs up north in the Arctic... Maybe you went out of season.

maybe i did go out of season Rose... where and when did you see these bergs...

me thinks that the devs didn't include these in any of the scenarios that would be part of a career in the game... though i may be wrong about that...

tell me where and what date you saw these bergs... i'd definitely like to have the experience...
