Yes...I understand. Still, it would be great to skipper a Balao in SH3, and pretend it's a captured one.

One question though...about this sub. Is it modded after a IX class ? Or redone entirely...I mean..does it have the tehincal specifications of a Balao Class sub ?

It is a completely new model with its own historic characteristics. However, it is an AI-sub and such subs in SH3 are not able to dive or surface. They are only able to move "horizontally".

Oh wow, that's outstanding. Man SH4 better have ability to accept models already made for Sh3 without much hassle. Superb stuff from you Serg, as always.

And Type941 will have more opportunities to apply his texturing skills with more targets in the Mediterranean like this one.

HMS Furious (model by Collin Glenndinning)

Any ETA on that Furious CV? And any chance of us seeing either the Eagle, Argus, Hermes, or the Courageous class?

Furious needs better (proper) damage and collision model. Do not know how much longer that will take.

I guess Courageous can be constructed from Furious modifications (I have Courageous superstructure/tower with the funnel). However, that will require re-texturing of the model and re-texturing takes quite some time. Therefore, I am not sure whether I am going to do that at all.

I also have 3D models of Eagle and Hermes but they are poor, low-polygon models, not up to SH3 standards. Argus model is somewhat better but stil not good enough. On the other hand, since some time ago I have Ark Royal half-way converted to SH3.

Unfortunately, I do not have the TypeXXIII 3D model. But I know that people at maricosom do. Otherwise it should not very difficult to convert it to SH3 and make a playable sub in exchange for real money.

Well, if I recall correctly Devs recommended the highest polycount to be 30000 (battleships, etc.) and the low limit is 1000-4000 for aircrafts. Therefore, I'd say you we have a pretty good deal in terms of recommended restrictions.

U-boat 3D models in SH3 represented by two general and separate parts: a hull and a conning tower. The hull includes separate moving/animated objects, such as planes, rudders, props, and torpedo-tube lids and snorkel. The conning tower is divided in terms of objects into so-called external and internal (bridge) parts. The internal part consists of what you can see on the bridge in F4/F12 views, including the inner wall/floor of the bridge. Periscopes, UZO, telegraf, antennas, radars are are usually separate objects of the internal part of the Bridge/conning tower.

Exception is Type XXI where the tower is together with the hull.

As to texturing, everything is one or two texture plates for the U-boat models.

Personally, I like the detailed pic of inside of the TypeXXIII bridge from here
