Power DVD offers that as a standard function. you can easily slew to the perfect pic you want to take, freeze it (then you also see if it is sharp and clear, or has motion blurr), and press the button.

Wow!! Inever knew that, the program came with the DVD drive (no manual) but probably a pdf, will have to install & investigate, don't suppose you can remember the keys! ...ooh, that's a bit lazy!
Many Thanks,
Reece.

I did some screenies myself with it, so I know that it works. But cannot remember right now how it is done. Was not difficult anyhow.

With my PowerDVD the screen capture button is set to 'C'

Not sure if that applies to all releases.

Worth a try, does it store the pictures or just copies to clipboard?

The small control panel has an icon, a camera, this triggers the shooting of the snapshot. In configurations -> General (Allgemein) -> Advanced (Erweitert) you can decide on what to do with the screenshot. default is that it is parked on the clipboard. you can also rule that it should be saved to a destination on your HD immediately. If you do a snapshot of a 16:9 movie, proporations will be distorted. You then need to load the pic into a graphic program (I use Paint Shop Pro 9) and reset image proportion to 1:1.77, then it will be normal again.

Older version capture menu selections too. Newer versions removed this feature unfortunatly.

Fraps, I'll look for that, thanks, I thought that was part of a GOGO mobile!:rotfl:
I tried out PowerDVD 5 & works very well I went through the movie & took a few hundred shots, set the picture quality to "as on the disk" however I thought the quality would have been better, the BMP size is 1,036,854 bytes, still looks good, would this be correct?
Thanks.

You can convert it to jpg afterwards. Use a batch-file-processing (PSP9), spares you time and work.
