The illusion of evidence based medicine

Its like bone and blood cancer in one. Almost impossible to get the corruption out of it again. Not in this economic environment.

And even worse, the system is by structure designed so that it needs to be like it is: profit-oriented. If the pharmaceuticla induistry does not make big money, real big money, it cannot invest into research to find new antobiotic, vaccines...

The recommendations they give at the end, should be carried out,

- liberation of regulators from drug company funding;

- taxation imposed on pharmaceutical companies to allow public funding of independent trials;

- and, perhaps most importantly, anonymised individual patient level trial data posted, along with study protocols, on suitably accessible websites so that third parties, self-nominated or commissioned by health technology agencies, could rigorously evaluate the methodology and trial results

they could ease the desaster quite a bit regarding medical (mis-)treatment and patient abuse. The hijacking of university by commercialisation however - well. There is more to it, isn't it. I only say "high student loans". Its a safe bet to assume that these high loans are wanted to be high. So that people struggle all hours of the day to get over the month and year and life and have no time to think independently and ask critical questions. Everbyody being an obedient drone makes the system running round.
