However these ships will have their home port registered in the Pacific so Turkey can refuse to allow them past.
And that is when it become interesting..Turkey refuse to let these Russian ships transfer through this strait.

If their destination is the Black sea-we don't know yet.

It is quite possible it could be Syria, they can then airlift if required but that will be a costly exercise no doubt.

It could also be the Baltic sea, I think however their destination is the Black sea
Some speculations

Turkey closed the Bosphorus Strait 28 Feb.
These 4 amphibious warships left some days before they were observed by Japanese navy.
The article in Mail online was written 17th of March

This must mean they left after the strait was closed.

Or am I thinking wrong ?

I cant quite remember but if they do get to Syria and they can tranship the load onto their LSTs that are registered in the Black sea then they could get around the closure by announcing they are returning to their home base.

Reading this from an article about Turkey closing the strait

"which prohibits the passage of military vessels of powers at war, except those returning to their port of registry."

https://atalayar.com/en/content/turk...-all-countries

Tells me it's only one way Warship that have homeport in the Black sea can sail into the black sea but not the other way..
