well even in the U.S., POTUS could not just wake up one day and order a full on strike for the hell of it. If it was not justifiable, you can be sure the 25th amendment would be invoked rather quickly.

In the USSR, based on Cold War documents which come out periodically, you can see there were a lot of safeguards put in and the military had to basically sign off on the order.

I would presume the same safeguards still exist.

Hell. I wanted to join the French Foreign Legion when I left the 82nd.
They had something back then that stopped that.
If I recall right? I couldn't speak French.

The Gold is safe because most/all of it is physically in Russia, but it cannot be sold quickly.

I know China has a war games training going on or coming up, but it doesn't seem to have the components to invade. I assume we would know where China would be building invasion forces up, so where is this? I've been too worried about Putin pushing buttons and getting my early crops in to study the China issue. Ole Bear even helping me dig a deeper hole with my old John Deere. I do have a bunker actually but it's full of all my wife's junk and I'd rather get nuked than have to clean it out. I wonder when the nukes fly if she will finally admit she was wrong to use it as a junk she shed. Be nice to at least be told I was right once before I'm vaporized.

Putin and nukes.

Throughout the day I've been thinking on a scene from a documentary called WW3 (it's available on yt)

Soviet is under heavy pressure-NATO has taken most of Poland, Romania and other vasal states.

In an effort to get NATO to leave, Soviet send a 50 kiloton nuke into the sea about 50 nm from the English coast

Could Putin be thinking the same-Send a nuke away and let it explode in a non-populated area ? Example in the middle of the Atlantic ?

Another thing.
Putin has threaten Denmark and Sweden, after they decided to provide Ukraine with weapons.
