I will leave SH3 pointers to someone else, since I am a rank amateur at it... but SH4 will use your Windows dialog to populate the game's video dialogs, whether 4:3 or 16:9. Whatever your monitor's "native" resolution is what you should set Windows to (it shows as "recommended)" in the dialog). Then, once in the game, use the Options choice on the main menu to go into the Graphic Options and match what you have in Windows inside the game. With your card, you can probably turn most things up to max, and see how things look. As for mods, I am partial to Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate Edition, which is based on AOTD_MadMax's FOTRS mod, but there are mods from Webster's Game Fixes Only (GFO) to Ducimus's Trigger Maru Overhauled, and quite a few between, with FotRSU and Bubblehead1980's TMO Updated mods still with active teams and continuing development. There is nothing wrong with just doing the Stock game initially either, since Ubi almost got it right by the time they released the v1.5 update... If you have a Steam version of the game, you will need the U-Boat Missions Add-on from Steam to play most of the mods. If you have v1.4, give a shout, and we can point you at some mods for that, though the list is much much shorter.
