The first people in England and Wales receive their coronavirus booster jab - a central part of winter Covid preparation across the UK
Maternity support worker Catherine Cargill, who works in Croydon, speaks of her joy at getting a third jab. Millions of people, including health and care workers, the clinically vulnerable, and the over-50s, are eligible. UK Covid deaths rise by 158 - with 26,911 new cases reported on Thursday. Vaccines in England stopped 230,800 hospital admissions among the over-45s, new figures suggest. Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon apologises "unreservedly" for ambulance wait times. France sees 3,000 health workers suspended for going without a jab. Dozens of aides to Russian President Vladimir Putin test positive.

By and large the reason polio is eradicated is that humans are the only host. It is not carried by animals or insects. As such, vaccination on a grand scale worked. Other viruses are carried by animals/insects. Vaccinations will not eradicate these viruses that are carried by animals/insects. It is believed that there is low risk of animals/insects can carry COVID. But, never the less, there is some risk. This success story for eradicating polio is wonderful. But, COVID will not be eradicated with mass vaccinations as many hope.

Said it before I think this Corona virus is intelligent the way it acts and mutate.
I fear that due to our massive vaccination, the virus will find a way(mutate) so the vaccine has no function. Markus

US hospitals being overwhelmed again.

Maybe hospitals should refuse to accept any patients that are not vaccinated wiothout having a valid medical reaosn for not being vaccinated. Not ethical, I hear some say? No, VERY ethical. Why should somebody with a stroke, a viuctim of an accident, or the kid that ahs swallowed household cleaner, not getting a bed because some dumbhead rejected to get vaccinated against Covid? I do not accept that. A life cannot be counted against another life, I hear some say? Wrong. It can. Those who stood up to their self-responsibility, go first. Unvaccinated Covid patients maybe simpy should pass last at the hospital entrances. All others go first. What then is left free in capacity, can be given to unvaccinated Covid patients.

Call it something else if "vaccine" doesn't sit right with you. Getting covid sucks. Getting it with symptoms bad enough to hospitalize you is preventable. |

Yes, but its not just Idaho. NBC reported over the past 48 hours desperate situations in hospitals across several Western states.
And Idaho still is one of those states with the lowest vaccination rate, no matter what. LINK - Hospitals fill up again in undervaccinated states LINK - US is split between the vaccinated and unvaccinated – and deaths and hospitalizations reflect this divide LINK - If you live in a state with a low vaccination rate, you're 4 times more likely to be hospitalized and more than 5 times more likely to die

Why is it that Corona virus has exploded in number of cases in USA, where the American still have some restriction they must follow, while the number of infected here in Denmark goes down R0=0.7 and number of people in hospital is going down for the moment and this despite Denmark has open fully.

Doesn't Denmark have a very high vaccination percentage?
Says 75% 12 and older are vaccinated.
