Default Scientist on fusion breakthrough

We are getting close to eternal energy supply.

Quote:
“This is a giant step toward the holy grail of energy research,” said Kaku, professor of theoretical physics at the City College and City University of New York. “To hit break-even, to extract more energy than you put in, and this could eventually become a game-changer.”

Yeah, I sure hope they didn't make any mistakes with their calculations. Imagine if some guy pushes the start button and the whole planet erupts into a mini-sun.

4 billion years from now Martian scientist will marvel over the luck they had in being just the right distance from two suns.

Maybe what you describe is what happened to Mars and Martians long time ago...? Maybe they shot some escape capsules into space, and they landed on another planet to form a new beginning, and it happened to have been the Earth...?

Its said the first Lego brick was not small and colourful, but huge and pitchblack. We are all Lego Martian stormtrooper figures on some alien child's table.

I thought that this temp. was created inside a special reactor and if this reactor break/explode the heat will quickly go down.

Creating an artificial singularity, a black hole, may show to be a bit more than just switching off the light.

Anyway, Neal and me are just kidding.

I read the books. There's a big rivalry between the US and European research institutes, sabotage, murder, infidelity, bribery, money laundering, evil Chinese, etc. Oh, and the BLM start a protest movement about radiation pollution while all the while Trump is pulling the strings to make the research fail so he can cash in on oil investments he secretly made with Putin.

Trump and his followers CAN'T stop the development.
The rivalry between USA, Europe and Japan is not a joke, far from it.

For me as an ordinary person it's very interesting to follow. One day we will have very cheap and inexhaustible source of energy.
Maybe not in our lifetime for those above 55 years of age.

I was making a joke based of a couple of fiction novels although I'm sure the rivalry is real.

There is a big fusion reactor in the US and an as big project in Europe. Both indeed are in very severe competition with each other. Both drive the research and development.

You know there was a very real fear that the 1st Atomic Bomb would do just that!
But they pushed the button anyway!

If i had a black hole in my house, first thing would be to cancel the garbage disposal service.

I'm pretty sure the people that make washing machines and dryers have the technology for Black holes!

Where the hell do all those missing socks go?
