Deleted the saved games and the game SH4.exe has been patched with LAA.
Still have the problem. The game ran flawlessly through my entire war using TMO without RSRDC. I also have Fall of the Rising Sun going on another campaign making movies. It also works without any issues. This happened to me before, I posted about it. Back then it was a different computer running Windows 7. Since then I have replaced the HD with an SSD ,upgraded my memory and went from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The issue is still there. |

table stakes question: since you state that you have FOTRSU installed, how did you install the additional instance of SH4/TMO-RSRD? have you used MultiSH4?

If you crash at the same time same day, then there is something wrong (most likely) with a radio station you've added, or was added for you. If you have one of the CBS radio mods, there is a date problem in one of those. Make certain there isn't something in the Data / Sound / Radio folder for December 8, 1941 at 2130. If you have folders, open them one by one, and then the Events folder in each, and inspect the Event.ini file (Notepad can open them), and see if there isn't something like that. The messages.txt also uses date / time, but those do not crash you if they are out of sequence, they only fail to load.

Excellent. So there is one out-of-sequence event in the events.ini file for the CBS radio mod. You could either edit that file yourself, or use Digital_Trucker's RadioStationManager V1.0 "mod" (technically, not a mod, but a tool). Use the SubSim download link since the "DownUnder" link is dead. Be aware that the little applet was written for Windows XP, and Windows 10 can be finicky about it. You do have to pay attention where you put the executable for it, and you don't have to use JSGME for that, if you want to keep your JSGME list "clean". Extract the file, and copy it directly to the game's "root" folder, which is all that JSGME does with it anyway... After "repairing" the events.ini file for the CBS mod, it will then be able to get past that date and function properly, or as properly as the game allows the "radio" to function... all that is spoken of in Digital_Trucker's thread and the ReadMe stuff for the applet. Why Ubisoft made it to where a radio event being out of sequence would crash the game is beyond most people's understanding...

Ok so I went in and found the offending radio broadcast that was causing the problem. The new program offers me the opportunity to remove the event. I try to apply the changes and it say "media file not found".
I go into the CBS radio mod and the event is in there and it plays. In the end I edited the event.ini and commented out the offending entry and it is working, sans the offending entry. Funny thing is the CBS radio mod works perfectlyfine with TMO without RSRDC and it works in FOTRSU. Go figure,,, At least I have most of my radio back. Thanks again. |
