If you "shelled-out" to Windows, you do sometimes get a "work stoppage" incident, similar to the "failure to expell CO2" issue, or the "Column of Steam" that follows your boat everywhere. A Save and Exit will then restore everything when you Load the Save...

Okay, then that's the issue! I was wondering if that might be the problem I had to dive from planes over head, I paused it and shelled out. Worked on my refrigerator in real life, refridge not working, freezer is. Then came back after i gave up for the morning. unpaused then came up a little later and they were back on strike! I saved it, exited the game and restarted and they're back to work, negotiations worked again That's gotta be the problem. I shell out often. Think we figured it out. THANKS.

The damage model seems very realistic, for subs or ships, but the damage to your sub isn't always reflected in the DC screen. I've had rudders blown off my sub, for instance, and it hasn't shown up in DC.

Some things you just can't see from inside the sub when at 62 foot or deeper ... I don't know if it was a purposeful or accidental oversight, or maybe they just got tired of adding things to the display, or ran out of room on the 1024x768 screen they had back then... The way you find out your rudder has been blown off is when you try to turn, of course. That wouldn't be so bad if you could split the port and starboard screws, but ya can't... I can see an outer torpedo door not being able to be opened until you make it back home, but a rudder should most times have ~some~ recourse... alas, it is what it is.

Some of the damage modeled involves things like structural integrity. My guess is that they simply didn't want to display it for game purposes, perhaps it would feel too gamey to have a health bar.

Craziness of it all, is.. on the DC section.. is very clearly listed port & starboard whatever... be it the diesels to the e motors...... & what their satus is.

Yet...

Have NO bloody control over being able to use each motor independent of the other.. 1 stupid motor control set up... Ugh..

Know that they did use each, like all ahead port back whatever on the starboard to make heading turns quicker.. not sure if that worked all 100% as the general idea was behind it or not.. guess it must have helped or else I wouldn't recall seeing it being done...
