Ok thanks. No rush at all. Strangely, even using the mod file with a blank .rnd file (saves loading time) doesn't work in GWX but does in NYGM and stock.
I have a campaign going with the GWX .rnd file so it does work without the mod.

Another interesting historical bit; u-boat combat ready Avengers needed 28 knots of "wind" to take off from an escort carrier. When it wasn't all there naturally higher carrier speed and catapult were used on take off.
The 15 m/s wind in the game is just over 29 knots.

Hi John Steel Sharks GWX Campaign Writer thats me we didnt use the HSIE patch as for british escort carriers i paired 2-3 avengers and 2-3 martlets

and for american escorts carriers 2-3 avengers and 2-3 wildcats but same aircraft types grouped leader and two wingmen so to speak.


Also when playing GWX multiplayer missions with a escort carrier attached to a convoy like Convoy HG76 aircraft would spawn from carrier even when i did not put any aircraft in mission.

Thanks ! Were they able to fly/attack together ? Using same aircraft types I would imagine so ?

Hi John ill make a single player GWX Mission tomorrow and test it if all goes well ill upload it for you to play with it and also look at it in the mission editor

they did attack but all the same aircraft were in a V Formation 1 flyte of Avengers 1 flyte of wildcats ill put one avenger as leader with 2 wildcat wingmen two flytes of

watch this space for a update tomorrow with screenies and if all goes well ill upload mission

Rubini's readme states that the should be compatible with all SH3 installations, so it should work in GWX. Let you know how things go.

Update. I'm unable to get this mod's aircraft to show up in the campaign even after increasing their rndgroup spawn percentage to 100%.
They do in the single missions and all the other aircraft show up as before.

John,

I get a CTD when using this mod in GWX, same as you. What I think is happening is that Stiebler's mod Air Torpedo (FIDO) may be causing the issue in the H.sie selector. Tried unchecking but got same result.

Ok thanks for the confirmation. I don't think Stiebler's FIDO mod is the problem as it actually worked fine several times in my other installs testing with this mod. Actually prefer his FIDO mod version anyway; simple and it works. Besides, nobody on a u-boat saw one dropped/hit the sub anyway.
I'm really only interested in this mod in terms of pairing a Wildcat with it, since at least according to that thread link I posted earlier, it can be done with this mod.
But I can't get this mods aircraft to appear in anything but the single missions anyway.
So I think might be best to just add the Wildcat to NYGM's CVE squadrons if one wants them with NYGM. I'm going to give that a try and change their load outs to guns only and see how it does in both NYGM and GWX that way.
But thats for next week; gone this weekend.
